SINGAPORE AIRLINES’ HISTORY dates back to 1947 with the maiden flight of Malayan Airways Limited, later renamed Malaysian Airways Limited, and then Malaysia-Singapore Airlines. In 1972, Malaysia-Singapore Airlines split into Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airline System.

Today, Singapore Airlines operates a modern passenger fleet of more than 100 aircraft. Together with whollyowned subsidiaries SilkAir, Scoot and SIA Cargo, the SIA Group fleet comprises nearly 180 aircraft. The combined passenger network covers 131 destinations in 35 countries, with 31 million passengers last year, and more than 25,000 staff. The worldfamous Singapore Girl is its iconic symbol of quality customer care and service.

Singapore Airlines has consistently set the benchmark for service excellence and hospitality in the aviation Industry. It continues to focus on delivering the highest standards of service across all touchpoints in its customers’ journeys: pre-flight, onboard and post-flight.

To cater to the needs of its healthconscious clientele, Singapore Airlines introduced its ‘deliciously wholesome’ meals across all cabin classes, specially designed to rejuvenate the body during long flights. Singapore Airlines also offers new initiatives such as automated bag drops at airports.

Singapore Airlines is proud to be serving its 70th year globally and is committed to being ‘A Great Way to Fly’, having earned a reputation as an innovative market leader, combining exceptional products with superior service.
